My name is Ho’onani, but my friends and family call me Ho’o. I am a wife, a new mother, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, and most of my family still lives there. A few months ago, my family and I decided to move across the country to New York City. Though I never thought we would be here, we are excited to embark on our new journey. I attended Brigham Young University, and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Political Science, with minors in Business and Spanish. For the last five years, I have been working as a paralegal for an immigration law firm. I love baking cookies and doing jigsaw puzzles.
My faith and my family are the most important things to me. I am so blessed to have an amazing husband, and the sweetest son. Both of them make my life better than I could have ever imagined. I cannot picture life without either one of them. My family and the gospel have both have shaped me into the person that I am today, and continue to shape me each and every day. Life is full of ups and downs. If you would have asked me 15 years ago what my life would look like, I wouldn’t have described the path that my life took, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Life is not always easy, and it never will be. Despite this, I believe that we have a divine purpose here on this earth. If we trust in God, he will lead us on a path that is better for us than any path we can come up with on our own. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I truly believe that we can always strive to find and choose happiness each day.
